COURSE OVERVIEW: what will be taught in this course?
This 2-year Diploma in Qur’anic Tafsir offers an in-depth study of the meanings, themes, and wisdom of the Qur’an. Students will explore classical and contemporary Tafsir alongside word-to-word meanings, understanding the context of revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul), linguistic analysis, and practical applications of Qur’anic teachings. The course covers the entire Qur’an, selected principles of Tafsir (Usul al-Tafsir), and the explanations of renowned scholars. Through structured lessons, discussions, and interactive learning, students will develop a deeper connection with the Qur’an and its timeless guidance.

Please also note: There will be assessments after every few lectures and there will be end of semester exams as well. Students who maintain an 80% attendance in the course and appear for assessments and exams will be awarded a certificate from Fatimah Academy. Recordings are also provided but they are not a replacement of live classes. Hence they will only be shared with those students who have valid and genuine reasons to not attend live class.

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:
You will be joining this course starting from the 3rd semester. Therefore, once you reach the completion (takmeel) of the Qur’an (in sha Allah), you will go back to complete the first two semesters when the diploma cycle begins again. Admissions for this diploma are on a rolling basis, allowing students to join at the beginning of any semester.
Disclaimer: Please remember that to teach the Qur’an, it is necessary to study various other subjects such as Arabic, Tajweed, and many Tafasir, and one must obtain a formal ijazah (authorization) from a qualified teacher. While this course is beneficial for your personal knowledge, it does not qualify you to teach others. If you wish to teach in the future, you will need to complete further courses.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: who is qualified enough to do this course?
– Female, Muslim students who can identify Arabic alphabets
– Fluency in reading Qur’an is not required
– Ability to understand basic English in order to make use of online learning management tools*
– A computer with reasonable internet speed or a smart phone that supports applications like Google Sheets, Google Docs, Drive, Zoom, Google Classroom et cetera
– Students with a serious attitude towards studying Deen
– We have a strict policy of not giving admissions again to those students who leave a course without finishing it
– Students at least 15 years old
– Girls under the age of 14/15 are required to have their mother’s supervision during classes
*If a student is not well versed in English, we try out best to provide Urdu instructions, guidance, and aid.
